The tale is one we have all been told, a tale as old as the ages of the stars on high and the earth beneath our feet. To stand against evil and purge it from the world, only to discover that one of their number hath met with that evil to treat. And so, it was with the lion and the wolf who soon would come to blow. For the truth of war and the truth of peace were ones one was thought to know. Thus, war raged for one thousand years and the world it would engulf. A war to end the end the corruption and the divinity of the wolf.
Orin and Macros had brought their civilization to peace through two wars against gods and their mortals. But it is noted in the revisionist histories of Macros that one day as he strode through the realm he had conquered and brought to heel, he believed that he beheld suffering for those that lived upon Aperion. The Valorains lived in a golden age, but it was an age in which the races of the Tetrarchy now suffered. Macros did not care for their suffering, and he believed that the whole of Aperion was at his command, but not completely. He saw that the whole world was flawed, and he began to believe that due to the nature of its creation it would always be flawed. Macros began to believe that the whole world needed to be changed. The Archons had tainted Aperion with their selfish ways of war and bloodshed and their stain upon this world needed to be wiped clean, but as a warrior even as a mighty Valorians Macros did not have the power to do this. This problem of how to cleanse the world would plague Macros’ mind and in the Skybreaker Monolith he beheld an answer. Whilst it was a place that brought the realms of Earth, Air, Fire and Water together, it was also a place of great power. It could be an instrument of birth perhaps. And so, it was that Macros wondered if it could be an instrument of apotheosis. What if it could potential be turned into an engine of ascension. From this idea sparked a plan, a plan that would drive Macros as wind drives flame.

The last fell. The final Archon was banished into the void of contemplation. The final Godfall was complete. Macros and Orin stood at the head of an unmatched army, triumphant in their scouring of divinity from this world. They stood with the banners of their people held aloft and their gaze turned to the future. But as the lion looked out over the people’s new dominion and hoped that peace might be the endeavor of their strength, the wolf saw a moment where domination might be their trade. Thus, the Valorians would go from fighting Gods to fighting mortals. Thus, the Valorians fury would be turned to the Tetrarchy. There would be no end to the blood. Not yet.
After the fall of Bulwark, the question of how the Valorians would proceed was not left unanswered for long. A young captain entered the picture and it was her sudden betrayal that would spur the machine of war into action once more. Her name was Captain Rhea, she had been a member of the army that Orin and Macros had led against the Archons, but after the final Godfall she went off into the hills and began raiding Vargul camps, disobeying the orders of Orin and Macros. She was brought before them in chains, but before Orin could act, Macros asked why she was even at fault, “Did the Vargul deserve such lands.” He said, implying such lands were Valorians by right. Macros knew exactly what he was doing, he knew that these words would be as a powder keg to the explosive fury of the Valorians, still drunk on war and victory. They were fueled by hatred of the Tetrarchy. A hatred spawned since their creation. Hatred of them as peoples. Hatred of the Archons even having created another after them. Let alone several. Macros knew this hatred, he shared in it, he understood its power. Rhea was not punished for her actions, and Macros now with a reunited army at his command ordered the Valorians to make war against the Vargul. Thus, began the crusades against the Latter Born.

Tis an unthinkable thing to strike out at one’s family, be they family by blood or family by battle. But under the stewardship of the Archons all of Aperion would fight. It was said by the Valorians long ago, that when kings quarrel, they argue using armies. Thus, the Valorians quarreled amongst themselves as their gods demanded. Thus, the wars began. Thus, blood was shed. Perhaps it was in this moment that the Archons forged their undoing. This moment when they forced their children, be it of the first born or of the Tetrarchy, to do battle with one another, but to fight one’s family is unthinkable, and when faced with the prospect of war, the two would instead choose a path that would reforge the world upon which they stood. A choice that would end with the death of Gods.
It was here that that change upon the world would begin. The seeds of revolution, of defiance, of freedom, here they grew and planes did they brew. Desperate action was needed to cast off the worlds growing pal, and so the lion and the wolf would stand side by side in the ruins of Anadol, their belief that they would bring deliverance to all. And the name of that deliverance, the Upheaval, Godfall.

In the cycle of the universe, endings are beginnings. It is written in the eyes of the stars, in the flesh of the earth, in the marrow of the mountains. But even as we sit and listen to the tales of ages past. We know a simple truth. All things down the ages of time can be traced back to their origin. From the many, to the twelve, to the one, Kosmera.
At the dawn of time she was all that existed. The dragon that slumbered in the void where the world would one day sit. As she slumbered the multiverse surrounded her in bleak nothingness. But Kosmera was not alone, for in her mind’s eye the twelve loomed and burned. In her dreams the great dragon saw what could be. Twelve divine aspects that would come to be known as the Archons. From courage to cunning, from justice to chaos, from wisdom to joy. The Archons represented distinct virtues, and stepped out from Kosmera’s mind into the formless void of contemplation. These were the first twelve beings to be created, and though Kosmera was no longer alone, the Archons yearned for manifestation. With the desire of her children, a deep hunger awoke within Kosmera. This hunger to answer the desire of her children was maddening and insatiable and even now could be seen throughout our world. Kosmera knew that there was nothing besides her and her children, and so to grant their wish of embodiment, the dragon who dreamed devoured herself.
